A Love for Jesus

A consistent sotu. We bless God. Happy October, I believe Simi told me her church has “hallowed service” on Halloween. Too funny.

I hope everyone is having an amazing October and September was a blessed month. I have been settling in university and the other day I believe I was praying or in deep thoughts and God brought Luke 5 to me. I’m currently studying Luke at the moment if you ever want to discuss the word of God I’m down. I love Jesus and everything to do with Jesus.

Yes, back to Luke 5

“And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.

And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners? And Jesus answering said unto them,

They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:27-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Levi is now known as Matthew. From his beautiful submission to his pure heart is what I want to draw your attention to. As soon as he became whole through Jesus Christ he hosted a feast, a great feast. Meaning he invited all his friends to come and meet his new friend, Lord, King and most importantly saviour.

Matthew couldn’t keep this new treasure to himself he had to show everyone. It’s like when you get new shoes, the first opportunity you get to wear them you harness that with immediate effect. Walking around making sure everyone can pay attention to it. And here comes my big question, is Jesus our new shoes we want to show or are they the old ones tucked deep behind the wardrobe. Our dirty little secret we don’t want out there.

Some of us are even ashamed to have our Bibles out in public (I was most definitely one of those), I used to even laugh at people that listened to gospel. Your ability to share the gospel is closely linked to how much you value your relationship with God. A lot of our friends are going through it and we can’t even share our faith with them, we are ashamed to share any of God on our social media.

To be ashamed is to be a sinner, to be a sinner is to ignore a the cross. We worry, what would people say/think of us.

Matthew knew that the Pharisees would question Jesus’ presence at his house due to Matthews background. Tax collectors and the people of the church were oil and water, no mixing. Matthew knew that all that didn’t matter, he wanted to share his joy and most valued possession with his friends, neighbours and family.

How much do you love Jesus? I pray we all walk in faith and yield to the voice of God and sharing the gospel with those we love. If we love them we would do all we can so they don’t perish, all we can do is share the word of God.

way of sharing the gospel: Have worship nights, organise evangelising events, Bible studies, talk about the Bible when you can.

I pray that you gain confidence in the Lord and we all serve him unapologetically and are radical for the Gospel.

and the church said Amen.

If you do want to talk, listen or need any prayers do email or text me. God Bless you.
